2015 ended with a + 12% of visits to the archaeological site of Pompeii. The 2016 budget envisages further growth
There are still a few months for the official figure, but over the summer the tours in the eternal city of Pompeii were often topped the charts of the museums and the most visited archaeological sites among those present on the national territory.
Day or night, Pompeii continues to give strong emotions among visitors, from year to year increase driven by curiosity to visit a city that the lava of Vesuvius, instead of destroying, made eternal. Heritage of Unesco since 1997, Pompeii has the power to transfer the visitor Roman antiquity enabling them to make a real trip back in time.
The work done in recent years by the Superintendence managed to shift attention from the obsession of the collapses to the authentic beauty of this place and the increase of the inputs has allowed the opening of new areas restored, between domus and oldest public buildings.
This success also favored by the political culture accessible to all implemented by the Minister Franceschini, opening free places of art on the first Sunday of every month, has helped to increasingly involve the local communities.
Thus, the archaeological area of Pompeii reality as a strong cultural attraction seems to be confirmed once again and the data collected during the summer season give further proof that the “Great Project”, which sees the Superintendency of Pompeii in synergy with the direct structure general Nistri, is leading in the right direction to ensure the enhancement due to the largest archaeological site in the world.
